What Is ScriptsMD?
ScriptsMD is a broad direct-to-consumer telehealth service — weight loss, erectile dysfunction, hair loss and mental health on one account — with GLP-1s as one line among several. Its weight-loss offer is a $75/month membership, discounted to $35 for the first month, with medication billed on top and advertised "as low as $84/month if prescribed".
The membership is unusually well stocked for the price. It includes a free provider consultation and prescription, access to a registered dietitian, a certified trainer producing a custom fitness routine, unlimited secure messaging, monthly check-ins, an injection kit, and free overnight shipping in cold packaging. Most competitors charging $75 include clinical access and nothing else.
The disclosure that matters most is one almost nobody else makes. ScriptsMD's terms name its dispensing pharmacy: prescriptions are "shipped directly by the following pharmacies: Curexa Pharmacy LLC, or another pharmacy of your choice". Naming the pharmacy, and explicitly permitting you to use your own, is a meaningful piece of transparency in a market where the compounding pharmacy is almost always hidden.
It also states its pricing structure plainly — "Same price for every dose, no insurance needed" — which is the flat-price model, and materially better over a year than providers whose cost climbs as you titrate. What it does not do well is publish its consumer protections: the refund policy page returns a 404, and the "100% service satisfaction guarantee" advertised on the product page has no stated terms we could find.

About Compounded GLP-1s
The FDA declared the tirzepatide shortage resolved in December 2024 and the semaglutide shortage resolved in February 2025, which ended the window for compounding pharmacies to make large volumes of copies of those drugs (503A pharmacies had until April 22, 2025; 503B outsourcing facilities until May 22, 2025). Many telehealth companies continue to offer compounded GLP-1s prescribed for an individual patient — often as a personalized dose, a microdose, or a formulation combined with a vitamin such as B12 or B6. That practice sits in a contested legal area, and the FDA has continued to act. In a Federal Register notice published on May 1, 2026, the FDA proposed not to include semaglutide, tirzepatide or liraglutide on the 503B bulks list, saying it had not identified sufficient evidence of a clinical need for outsourcing facilities to compound them from bulk substances; the comment period was extended to July 30, 2026. Separately, in February 2026 the FDA issued warning letters to 30 telehealth companies over false or misleading claims about compounded GLP-1s, and it has continued: a further round dated 8 June 2026 — 25 warning letters, posted publicly on 16 June 2026 — reached companies including Medica Weight Loss, FITISH and Roen Health (RoenRx), again over false or misleading claims about compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide that the FDA said made the products misbranded under sections 502(a) and 502(bb) of the FD&C Act. The claims cited included suggesting the products were FDA-approved, implying equivalence to Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound, and asserting the "same active ingredient" or "same results" as the approved drugs. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, which means they have not gone through the same review as the brand-name products.
